About NEMR:

The events of 911, Katrina and Rita have had great impact on every American, and have also given each one of us an opportunity to embrace our humanitarian and civic duty and get involved. The principals of NEMR have made this choice.

Collectively, we have over 50 years of experience in developing, implementing, maintaining and auditing management systems for the aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and general service industries. We have created our history by assisting organizations achieve system conformance to meet the requirements of a multitude of international standards.

Calling upon this expertise, we recognized that a basic yet extremely crucial element for planning and maintaining an effective Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity Program/system (DEMBCP) was missing…the ability to have totally impartial system assessment that validates a system's conformance to the requirements of the current national standard.

Regarding DEMBCP, or as it has been referred to as "Business Resiliency" or "Emergency Business Continuity Management" (EBCM), NEMR is the first organization focused on filling this void. We provide the private sector with objective program/system assessment which includes certification and registration to whatever is currently the endorsed and appointed standard for the United States of America. At present, this is the ANSI/NFPA 1600:2007 Standard on Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity Programs.

National Emergency Management Registrars was officially established in 2006 in answer to the call for "private sector" preparedness, response, recovery and resumption. We are committed, solely to DEMBCP certification initiatives, and will assist by ensuring the necessary linkage for public/private sector coordination and unified response to any critical incident or catastrophic event.
